Yes – these are superbly crafted aural landscapes, but they also encode a sense of the eternal/fleeting moment that most ambient artists never come close to attaining. His best creations are more like sonic imprint-corollaries to the poetry of Georg Trakl. “Shadows of a Detroit Winter Sun” (under the moniker of ‘Manitou’) delivers introspective compositions of gorgeous failing light. Highly recommended. Favorite track: Muted night over Herman Gardens.
