mysticwolf75 The cover photo alone blew me away! It not only goes perfectly with the music, but also reminds me of the area where I live, and many years ago when I used to walk my dog in the woods down the road from me - it looked basically like this photo, minus the frozen lake. It often makes me sad that I can't really go back there anymore (it's gotten so built up around here, so my old access points are gone, plus my current dog doesn't like to go very far anyway).

about

The Still Point of Morning is inspired by a Margaret Atwood poem that I read. As is frequently the case with the written word, especially poetry, things are subject to interpretation once they go through the filter of one’s own life experiences. Atwood’s words evoked in me a feeling that brought about a sense of place and well-being that weren’t really the focus of the poem itself, so I took things in my own direction.

Morning.
A still point at awakening.
The birth of a new day’s sun
and the opportunity to start
again
anew.
No deep fog
moving inland from
cold
dark
seas,
but a still point
for contemplation,
for reflection,
and the collecting of
oneself
for the continued journey
that lies ahead.
I hope
the day is charitable
and the
gales of my own yearning
not unkind.
